Applications

The use of expanded clay grains offer a variety of possibilities:

• Many gaps: 45 % of gaps between the grains, as well as 43% within the grains. Argex grains are an ideal draining material and a fantastic buffer zone for water!
• Economic: The fast pneumatic blowing by tankers, the full use of the building excavation, the flexibility in design, the unrestricted life and the reusability of the product, etc. make sure that Argex is the most economical solution against flooding
• Light weight: Argex grains weigh approximately 350 kg/m³, which is 5 times less than conventional backfills.
• Easy and quick installation: Argex grains can be blown with tankers, over a maximum distance of 100m. Ideal for hard to reach and/or drive on yards.
• Because of the round shape Argex grains consolidate immediately. There are no further settlings. The pressure strength of a pack of loose grains is higher than 10 ton/m².
• Unrestricted life: The grains are entirely inert, do not rot, will not be attacked by fungus, rodents, etc. Moreover, they are insensitive to moisture and dryness, frost and extremely high temperatures, and they do not deform.
• 100% eco-friendly: Argex grains are completely made out of clay that is baked and finally expanded in a rotary kiln at a temperature of 1,100°C. The finished product is a totally durable building material that can be used and reused without restrictions!
