Company Argex

The Argex plant is located in Burcht/Kruibeke, just on the border of the Belgian provinces of Antwerp and East-Flanders. Since 1966 it has been producing expanded clay grains. Argex grains are generally know for their use as drainage material in flower and plant pots, but they can be applied for many other applications in the construction industry.

First of all, the material is extremely fit for floor insulation in residential and non-residential buildings. In civil engineering it is often used as a lightweight filler in the construction of railways/waterways/roads. Another important application with processed Argex grains is lightweight concrete: hollow concrete, granular concrete, compact concrete or structural lightweight concrete, but also derived concrete applications such as sound barriers, prefabricated elements, beams and structural floor units or chimney elements are part of the Argex range. The lightweight insulating blocks, provided with the Topargex quality label, are used in structural work for visible as well as invisible masonry.

Finally, being an eco-friendly product, Argex obviously offers green applications as well: Argex grains are used to form a drainage layer in green zones, sports fields, roof gardens and green parking sites.
